Shake it like a Polaroid picture!

Ashton, Siobhan and Mitchel getting into the groove!

Some of our Gleeks started putting together some crazy moves in the last Glee session. Here’s a shot of them in action!

Ashton, Mitchell and Siobhan are working together to create a street dance to one of their favourite songs from the Honey soundtrack.

Not only are the group getting a vocal workout, they’re now getting a physical workout too! Who needs the gym anyway?

We welcome new participants all year round. If you want to join in the fun on a Tuesday evening and you’re aged 16-25 call Craig on 01302 342148.

Glee at the YMCA – Update

‘Glee at the YMCA’ had a great number of new participants this week. After promoting Glee at Doncaster College last week we were excited to see how many new faces would turn up and join in the fun – we weren’t disappointed!

A couple of the new guys play in a band in their own time and were willing to put their talents to good use and play for our Glee club.

It was really lovely to see so many eager faces wanting to use their time productively, working together to create great music.

We welcome new participants all throughout the year, so if you’re interested in becoming a part of Glee call 01302 342148 and ask for Craig.

Sing, Dance and Smile with Glee!

Last night, Glee at the YMCA asked participants to express themselves musically. Gleeks were asked to bring along a song to share with the rest of the group. This could be any song that conjured a particular memory, happy or sad. Those that felt confident were asked to perform this song to the rest of the group.

Sarah, a new addition to the group,  gave a fantastic rendition of Christina Aguilera’s ‘Beautiful’. A really moving and emotional version of the song – we loved it!

Glee at the YMCA helps young people express themselves through song and dance in a friendly and supportive environment. If you are interested, or would like any more information please call 01302 342148 and ask for Craig Tobin.

Re:Act Theatre Group

Doncaster YMCA’s young volunteers’ theatre group, Re:Act, are positively beaming this week after a successful week of performances of their Christmas show, ‘A Christmas Wish’.

‘A Christmas Wish’ gave audiences an in depth look into Hostel life over the Christmas months and used real life stories from the Hostel as inspiration to raise awareness of youth homelessness in Doncaster . The performance raised just under £300 in donations, which will all go towards giving Doncaster YMCA’s Hostel residents a traditional Christmas this year, including a Christmas meal and some presents!
